This phase starts when you start to feel like it is possible to resume normal activities. It is important to note that while it may feel like normal activity can resume, it is common for the pain to return. Treatments are needed to stabilize the condition and ensure that pain will not return. This phase can last a few weeks to a few months, depending on the severity of the condition. During this phase, you will also learn how to take care of yourself to avoid reinjury and how to minimize problems should they arise again.
3. Maintenance or supportive care
After MTB (maximum therapeutic benefit)has been gained and you no longer feel pain, some patients some patients are not able to maintain the benefit and can even start to feel pain as treatment ends. The most common reasons are ongoing stresses of physical activity, work, and chronic injuries. We recommend a supportive care plan to help avoid further pain and injury and not become dependent on therapy.
